We worked with DreamMaker Bath & Kitchen to create a custom live edge wood island as part of a log home kitchen remodel. With integrated waterfall edges to the floor, the live edge Red Oak was sourced from fallen timber on the shores of Lake Springfield.
The natural curves and beauty of the live edge slab fit perfectly in this space. Zack and Brian worked on the island together, which has more than 120 manhours in it; from felling the tree to barging it across Lake Springfield and milling to kiln drying. The island, which is 10 feet long and 32 inches wide, features custom iron bases by Fehring Ornamental Iron Works. The island hosts seating for eight so it is the perfect space for entertaining family and friends.
