This year, at our third Home Expo, we displayed a custom sliding barn door with a chevron pattern, a live edge walnut conference table, Ambrosia Maple River table with waterfall end, and a reclaimed White Oak Lincoln style table. We emphasized visual aids from previous projects, which also helped customers better understand the scope of our work.
The 2020 Springfield Area Home Builders Association Home Expo at the Bank of Springfield Center in downtown Springfield, Illinois took place between Friday, February 21 and Sunday, February 23.
Each year clients help us understand the design trends and areas in which they are most interested in when improving their homes. It was clear from conversations during the event, and those we’ve had at the showroom, that live edge continues to grow in popularity with an emphasis on epoxy river tables. This is an area we will continue to expand upon. Sliding barn doors also remain an important design feature.
Following several projects, many clients were interested in our custom bars with built-in cabinetry and wanted to learn more about our design services in general.
Clients are mixing media and colors more and more. The Austin, Texas project in 2018 is a perfect example of the style trends we're seeing. The mix of reclaimed wood and steel with white countertops and mid-century modern furniture completely transforms a space.
Each year the show is a team effort, we are a small family-owned business and work together to balance the time commitment, our production schedule at the shop, and life.
We relocated this year to help increase interactions and the move proved a success. The new space required a new booth layout. We built a unique design for our clients and the show. It's hard to gauge the number of people that visited the booth, but we handed out more than 1,000 business cards and 200 brochures during the three-day show.
The expo is a great chance to connect with potential clients and other industry professionals. The clients at the home show are always great to talk with and are genuinely interested in what we have to offer. It's good to make contact with clients who may not know of us or want to learn more about our services.
Each year we try to build on the previous year, in February we made some great connections and will be back in 2021.
Thanks to everyone that visited!
