NATURAL CHARACTER

 -PRODUCT VARIATION-
-Distressing: The majority of the furniture we make by hand is ordered with distressing being one of the most important things a customer wants. We do this all by hand, meaning that no two points of distress will look the same. This is normal and to be celebrated, and there will not be any refunds given for the distressing not matching or for the level of distressing not being what was expected by the customer when the order was placed. We do not heavily distress anything unless it is asked for the customer. Please view our photos to get an idea how we distress our furniture before placing the order.
-Stain variation: All wood accepts stain differently. We unfortunately don’t have ultimate control over how wood will accept the stain you choose. We do offer different types of wood for many of our products. We cannot guarantee that your product will look exactly like a product on our website or an example that you’ve shown us. That’s part of the beauty of custom furniture though, as there will never be another item made just like yours. There will be no refunds given or rework done for the color of the product being slightly different than expected. With that being said, we strive to always do our very best to match your expectations.

HOW DO I CARE FOR MY PRODUCTS

Your furniture is built from solid wood and is designed to be durable and livable. Our furniture is sealed with a polyurethane finish to protect the wood. Families love the durability and longevity of our furniture.

For daily care, we recommend cleaning with water or any cleaning product intended for wood surfaces. Avoid abrasive cleaners and harsh chemicals. If you have any care questions, please don’t hesitate to call or email us.

I STILL HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT COLOR, FINISH, SIZE, OR DESIGN, HOW DO I CONTACT YOU?

You can email us at info@sangamonreclaimed.com, call or text us at 217-720-3019 or message us on our facebook or instagram pages.  A design rep will get in touch with you.

WHAT IF I GET MY TABLE AND DON’T LIKE THE COLORS

Each piece is hand crafted from reclaimed lumber and made to order.  You choose the style, color, finish, and size.  every piece of wood, especially reclaimed, is different and will take color and finish differently.  Please keep this in mind before ordering from us.  We do not have control over some conditions.

 

WHAT ARE THE PAYMENT OPTIONS

How do I use the 0% Financing to purchase my furniture?
Once you get to the payment method at checkout, be sure to click on “Slice it. Pay over time with Klarna.” You will be rerouted to their page to fill out some information to see if you qualify. If it all works out, Klarna will go ahead and pay our company in full, and then you will be responsible for making minimum payments to them each month and paying off your furniture in full.

 WHAT IS THE TYPICAL BUILD TIME

Furniture is ready for shipment within approximately 12 weeks of their order date, though delays are possible.  This is also subject to change if you submit changes and/or if we are waiting approval for a live edge slab decision.
From here, it will take 7-10 days to arrive at your home based on our freight partner.
Orders are built in the order they are received.  

All lead times given are PURELY ESTIMATES, sometimes we can get your furniture to you faster, sometimes it takes longer.  Our primary focus is to make sure you receive a high quality product that you’re going to love for years to come. 

**Our current woodshop space allows our team to work in a distanced and safe environment, however in the event that multiple employees are exposed to COVID-19 outside of work and are required by state guidelines to quarantine, production turnaround times for outstanding orders may be adjusted.**

Everything! No custom piece of furniture is built or finished until it’s ordered so you can control everything about it. Our website offers a high degree of customization, but if you’re looking for customization beyond what the website offers, please give us a call and we can help place your order: 217-720-3019
 

CAN I CHANGE MY ORDER?

For any changes to your order, please notify us within 48 hours of placing the order.  After this time period, your production has been set in motion, and we are not able to make any additional adjustments (unless we contact you) or cancel your order.

Simply send us an email (reply to your order confirmation), and we’ll communicate with you until you are satisfied.

CAN YOU HOLD OR STORE MY FURNITURE IF I’M NOT READY FOR IT

We will be reaching out to you before we start production on your custom furniture to confirm 1) the details of the order are correct and 2) you are ready to receive your custom furniture. This is your opportunity to delay production if you are not ready to receive your furniture. If we have received confirmation from you, and we finish your furniture and are ready to deliver it, we cannot hold or store your furniture under any circumstances.

We also offer a collection of furniture that we source responsibly and hand-finish onsite.

WHAT SHOULD I KNOW ABOUT JAMES+JAMES BEFORE ORDERING
James+James is a garage started, locally owned furniture company. James+James tables and beds are hand-built by a small team of local craftsmen at our shop in Arkansas. We also offer a collection of furniture that we source responsibly and hand-finish onsite. Additionally, we offer a curated selection of decor items, lighting, furniture, and rugs from across the globe.
OUR COSMETIC STANDARD
At James+James, we take great pride in each and every unique piece of furniture of solid wood furniture that we sell. The furniture that is handcrafted and brush-finished by our team is built using solid wood that is distressed and has a reclaimed look. Given the handmade and hand finished nature of the products we craft, variations and imperfections in the wood should be expected and celebrated! Just as every tree is unique, so too is every piece of furniture that is handcrafted and hand finished just for you. Every piece of furniture will have a unique grain pattern and slight color variation as a result of the grain pattern.
Other characteristics of handcrafted, solid wood furniture include open knots, visible brush strokes, micro-imperfections and textural variations in the durable, hand brushed finishes, unique distress marks, exposed screws, wood filler marks, joint lines, and distinctive nicks, splits, cracks, and other imperfections. We allow up to approx. 1″ of variation across all measurements due to the custom nature of the handcrafted furniture we build. Those who do not appreciate variations and imperfections should not purchase handcrafted furniture.
Solid wood may expand and contract due to changes in temperature and humidity. This means that the gaps between the boards of a traditional table top may get wider over time and need to be cleaned. This natural movement enhances the one of a kind beauty of solid wood, handcrafted furniture. It does not affect structural integrity and is not considered defective. For customers that prefer to never have gaps between their table top boards, we recommend choosing our jointed top option, which eliminates cracks and spaces between the boards in the table tops. Jointed tops expand and contract as a whole. You will still see the beautiful and natural open knots on jointed table tops. We do not offer machine manufactured perfection – no two pieces are exactly alike since James+James furniture is crafted to your order specifications. We celebrate the true uniqueness of every piece of solid wood furniture that is built and finished by hand in our woodshop.

-Our Warranty-
Our warranty covers all manufacturer defects in regards to products not functioning correctly. Example – Joints in the wood of the product are insecure or wobbly or wood is coming apart or breaking naturally.

What our warranty does not cover: anything that has occurred due to mishandling of furniture, such as damaging the finish, force to the wood causing it to break, or natural tendencies of wood when treated to extreme humidity & temperature changes (Twisting, bowing, warping). Wood is a natural product and we have no control over it moving over time, especially in different temperature and humidity.
-COMMUNICATION-
-importance of notes: When you place your order here on the website, there is a place to leave special notes for us. If we’ve communicated via phone, text, facebook, or any other place about special/custom things regarding your furniture, these things MUST be included in the notes section. With 20-40 orders passing through our shop each month, we will not remember something that was said in passing on a phone call or in a text message. Please help us help you by doing this.
For example: You messaged us on facebook asking if we could build a different style table top for your table than our standard table top design. We say that we can do it, but it is never confirmed by you that it is in fact what you want. You place your order and don’t leave any notes. We get to your order and build the top as we normally do, because there are no notes to tell us otherwise. You come to pick up the table and it’s not what you thought, but there was a breakdown in communication. If there had been notes on the order that simply said “Would like the different style table top that we spoke about and sent a picture of on facebook. Please see that message when beginning production”, then we would have referred back to our conversation when we began building your table.
If you don’t want your table distressed or you want a special paint color, it MUST be included in the notes during checkout.
This saves us all from being frustrated by the product not being what we had thought (both on our end and on your end.)
Please note that we cannot rework your furniture because of this. If there are special details they MUST be placed in the notes section. We will not be held liable to ideas that were mentioned in passing and never written down.
